The Pirates traveled to WBL member Kenton on Tuesday night and faced a three point barrage from the Wildcats. Kenton made 10/27 from behind the arc, bombing away from the get go. Bluffton opened the game with an alley oop from Matt Gillett to Levi Gleason but then watched Kenton go on a 12-0 run. Unphased, BHS countered with a 15-0 run, resulting in a 17-12 lead early in the second quarter. Sophomore RJ Stratton scored six of his game high ten points during the stretch. Kenton then went off from long distance, cashing in six 3s over the final five minutes of the half to take a 38-23 lead into the locker room. Turnovers were again a problem for the Pirates, as they gave the ball away 16 times in the first half.
The second half was fairly even as Kenton held Bluffton at a ten point deficit for the half. The Wildcats slowed the pace to shorten the number of possessions won the game 62-43. RJ Stratton had a great game scoring ten points and collecting two steals. Matt Gillett scored nine points, all in the first half. Gleason also scored nine and collected five rebounds. Tyler Breidenbach nailed a ‘3’ on his way to seven points and dished out five assists on the night, repeatedly finding the bigs down low. Kyle Siefker added four while Michael Donley and Cory Hilty each added two. Bluffton is now 2-7.
